The home of the Salt Lake Bees baseball team now has a new name: Spring Mobile Ballpark.

The club reached an agreement with Spring Communications last month on a multi-year naming rights deal. Spring Communications is a telecommunications company located in Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming.

The agreement is for at least five years, and could stretch to 15, club and city officials said in a press conference last month..

The city-owned ballpark, which seats 12,000, opened in 1994 as Franklin Quest Field. Franklin Covey purchased the name rights to the stadium in 1999 and for the last 10 years the home of the Salt Lake Bees has been known as Franklin Covey Field.

I must admit it will take a little getting used to… much like the name change from the “Delta Center” to the “Energy Solutions Arena” that happened last year. After all “Spring Mobile Ballpark” doesn’t exactly roll off of the end of your tongue.

But the park is still one of the most beautiful, picturesque minor league ballparks in America. It’s a great way to spend a nice relaxed, summer evening with family or friends… no matter what the heck the name of the park is.

To buy tickets for any of the upcoming games click on the Ticketmaster ad on our main directory page.

The idea was to expand the idea of brewpubs in Utah by offering a wide variety of brews and home-made sodas alongside quality, innovative menu choices that would leave people talking!
