Temple Square is a 10-acre block located in the middle of downtown Salt Lake City and is one of the most popular tourist spots in Utah.

The day after Thanksgiving and thru the Holiday season, Temple Square becomes illuminated with a spectacular display of more than 300,000 Christmas lights. Lights of all colors fill every tree and bush on the grounds.

Visitors (too many to count) stroll through the grounds and take in the scenery or hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse on Thursday evenings.

If you get tired of walking, cuddle up under a blanket, enjoy a ride around town in a horse-drawn carriage. You can usually find one near the south entrance of Temple Square.

To learn more about this years downtown “Lights On” celebration planned for November 28th from 4:30 to 8 pm check out the Downtown Alliance website at http://www.downtownslc.org
